This is my story. I'm training for my next race and beyond and would like to go from the back of the pack to somewhat middle of the pack.

What Now?
It's been a few days and I can almost walk normal again. I have been asked by a few folks the big question: What's Next? I have no idea. I'm looking at a marathon in November but that is too far away so I'm opening it up for advise. What should I do next? Keep it close to home (GA) and cheap other then that I'm open. I have 1 vote for drink beer and eat Doritos.
For good race ideas, I have heard the Chattanooga Waterfron Tri in July is Da Bomb. I am considering it since my original oly plan (Westpoint in June) will not work due to a biz trip. Tugaloo (Oly) is good though it is hilly.
If you wanted to really go crazy, there is a 70.3 at the end of Sept in SC not too far out of GA that is supposed to be good. That is the peak of my season this year. I am starting a 20 week plan in May.
Loved reading your recap!! I'm doing Chattanooga and I've heard it's a blast. You can also check out trifind.com and search by state for other races. There are some sprints in the fall as well, which might be fun.
You could join up with a local tri club and have some people to train with. A lot of my club is actually TNT alum that missed getting together to train in a group. Some of them still raise money for TNT.
Sprints. Rock 'n Rollman in Macon has a sprint. 750m swim, 17ish bike and 5k run. Takes place the end of May. I did it last year and just drove down in the morning.
I'm just an average middle age guy that is trying to get his life back. One day I looked up and didn't recognize myself; I was fat, bald, and attached to the couch. I have a wife, son, and dog who I love and they love me. I will turn my life around starting with my health.

The super sprint at Callaway on June 22 is fun. The water is warm, shallow, and most people come in around an hour. Good stuff :-)
