Do-Over

I'm calling for a do-over for the past couple of weeks. I have not done much of anything and I need a do over. As long as I'm calling for a do-over for the past couple of weeks I'm going to ask for the whole season. So this brings this question up: If you could start your whole triathlon life over again what would you do differently. What do you know now that would change your approach or training?

Heh! The most important thing is laying out your race season, then you go about training for it. There are lots of ways to do that. Buy books. Online resources. Find a coach. Etc... I think you did very well with your training for St. Anthonys. I think you've just been trying to decide if you like it or not?!?!

Next to planning out races and training, I think it helps to have people to motivate you. You have that here with your fellow bloggers, you may also want to try and get out and train more with fellow triathletes if at all possible. Maybe you need that social interaction like you probably had with TnT. You may want to find a tri club to join that has regular meetings and training

I agree with Wes. Only stick with it if you actually like it! Otherwise, there are road rides that you can join up with or you can stick with running. I do agree that training with other people can really help keep you motivated and make it fun. I know with a family, it can be harder to juggle.

Planning a race schedule will help as well!

Give me a few years and I'll come back and answer this question ;) But for starters, I think I wouldn't have taken 6 years off from athletic endeavors.

Get more info!! I was so clueless coming in! I'd find someone out there to give me the low-down before diving in head first! But then again... a lot of this triathlon stuff you just have to figure it out as you go!

I wish I would have started much sooner and stayed more consistent. Hope you have a good do over.
